Shoveling Work Out

I try to keep myself active. I ride my exercise bicycle, I lift a free weight, and I walk a lot, weather permitting.

This past weekend, the snow came down in droves here in Bethesda, Maryland. Normally I would hunker down, go online, and work like crazy since I'm a software developer.

This time, however, there was a blackout. So, no work! Thanks to my sister, I found a friend with electricity and decided to dig out my car and go leech off their juice.

Well, my neighbors found a friend in me and my shovel! Actually, its a communal shovel, but I happen to wield it well. So another neighbor and I shoveled out several cars over the course of a few hours. It was great weather and an awesome workout.

The day after, my muscles were more sore than I can ever remember! Tonight I took a long bath, and it felt awesome. I love getting in a workout and accomplishing something useful at the same time.

Congratulations to the Saints!

The Saints played an awesome game last Sunday! I didn't think I was going to get to see the game because I had no power due to the crazy Mid-Atlantic blizzarf, but I found some friends with electricity and got to join in on the fun.

My power came back on a day after the Superbowl and so I finally got around to eating my shrimp etouffe from Trader Joe's. Tasty!

Go Saints!

I have to root for the Saints during these championship league games.

First off, my cousin went to college at Loyola in New Orleans. Second, the Saints have yet to win a Superbowl.

In light of the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, I feel like they deserve a win.

Sure, Favre is a sure favorite, but the team trumps the player in my opinion.

UPDATES:

  • Nice run.
  • Saints are headed to the SUPERBOWL!

Good Football Day

Its Sunday, January 24 today, and its a "good day for football" where the division championships will get decided and the Superbowl competitors.

First off today is the the AFC championship at 3PM with the Colts battling the Jets, and then the NFC tonight at 6:30PM with the Saints battling the Vikings.

The Patriots are not playing today, so I have no personal stake in the games, but it should be some good entertainment anyway. My cousin Michael went to Loyola in New Orleans so I guess I'll root for the Saints.

Hoyas Basketball Game

I had an awesome day today because I got to see Georgetown play basketball against Rutgers at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. It was really fun, but Georgetown really cleaned Rutger's clock.

We left during the third period as Georgetown had about a forty point lead against Rutgers.
